The main goal of the Civil Engineering Program is to prepare engineers for the successful practice of the civil engineering through the design, construction, operation and maintenance of civil infrastructure and works.
Taking into account the needs and expectations of constituencies and considering the accomplishments that civil engineers are expected to attain a few years after graduation, the Program Educational Objectives have been defined so that the graduates of civil engineering:
1. Demonstrate a solid technical competence for the evaluation, planning, design, construction, operation and maintenance of civil infrastructure systems and works.
2. Work and interact in the different levels of an engineering project, attaining proposed goals and advancing in their professional career.
3. Communicate effectively and participate proactively in multidisciplinary teams performing as leaders or active members.
4. Conduct themselves correctly respecting the standards and ethical principles of the profession, and assuming their professional and social responsibilities.
5. Develop a continuous learning and training, assimilating the changes and advances in the profession, and completing specialization and postgraduate studies.
